Businesses save money with retail water market

Businesses, charities and public sector organisations across England have seen many benefits in being able to choose their water and wastewater retailer since the retail water market opened in April 2017.

Five months into the open market and we have seen over 50,000 switches and large-scale savings for some businesses.

The UK’s largest gym operator, Pure Gyms, appointed a sole retail water services provider across their 180 sites to generate a savings of over £35,000 per year. They have been joined by Malmaison and Hotel Du Vin who expect to see a saving of £75,000 per year.

British Savings Week

From 18-24 September, we are working with British Savings Week to encourage businesses across England to look at the best ways to save money, including on their water bills.

Shop around

Talk to your current water retailer and see if they can offer you a better deal, or if they can provide a water audit to help you reduce your water consumption. Using less water will also help decrease your bill. You can then contact other retailers to see if they can beat it – you can find retailers’ contact details here. You can then choose the best deal for your business.
