find a retailer

You can find out more about the retailers and wholesalers serving the open water market here.

All eligible businesses, charities and public sector organisations, regardless of the amount of water they use, can choose who provides their water and wastewater retail services. The exception is if your premises are currently served by a supplier based wholly or mainly in Wales, in which case you will only be eligible to choose your water retailer if your business uses 50 million litres of water or more a year.

Businesses and organisations with multiple premises or those using large amounts of water may consider applying for a self-supply licence. Self-supply licencees can buy retail water services directly from one of the wholesalers and supply their own retail services. Further details about self-supply can be found on the Ofwat website.

The Water Report’s Customer Guide is an independent guide to the new market, from trusted source The Water Report. It includes a retailer-by-retailer listing to help you find a supplier that is right for you and contains helpful information on what’s happening, why, how it will affect you and what your options are.

water and wastewater wholesalers

If you wish to self-supply one or more of your business premises and hold a self-supply licence, you can deal directly with one of the wholesale suppliers.

third party intermediaries

Third Party Intermediaries (TPIs) are organisations and individuals that offer paid for advice and information which may help you buy water for your business.
