how to self-supply
Businesses, charities and public sector organisations with multiple premises or those using large amounts of water may consider applying for a self-supply licence.
Self-supply licencees can buy retail water services directly from one of the wholesalers and supply their own retail services. Further details about self-supply can be found on the Ofwat website.
As a self-supplier, you can access benefits including:
- savings on retail costs, reduced admin costs and consolidated billing;
- the ability to fully manage your own water and wastewater usage and data
- acquiring certain rights within the open water market (including membership and voting rights in the running of the system operator Market Operator Services Limited (MOSL))
